Pastors Panel

On November 14th, 2010 the pastors of Bethel Grace assembled to answer difficult questions concerning the Christian faith. Watch as they give their answers to inquiries given by the Bethel Grace congregation using scripture as the basis for truth.

QUESTION 1
How do we know what promises/commands are applicable for us today. For example, I've heard people quote Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope."  But how do we know that is for us today and not just for the original recipients?

QUESTION 2
Can you please explain the difference between righteous anger and sinful anger and give examples of each as it pertains to relationships, ie. not in a general sense like abortion in general, etc. but specific interpersonal type examples.

QUESTION 3
What does Jesus mean in Luke 9:23 when He says: "If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me."

QUESTION 4

Do babies go to heaven when they die? If yes, why don’t we kill them?

QUESTION 5
In Matt 5:17 it says that Jesus has fulfilled the Law; how so and does this abolish the Old Testament Law? Are we under grace and antinomianism?

QUESTION 6
Mark 16:8 Says they told no one, while Luke 24:9-12 & John 20:2 says they told the disciples, which is correct?

QUESTION 7
Should we hold any biblical view regarding cremation or is it a personal choice?

QUESTION 8
Who Translated the Bible?

QUESTION 9
Who was Cain's wife? Is is morally wrong to marry your sister?

QUESTION 10
I know that the Apostles Creed states that he (Jesus)decended to Hell/Hades (depending on the translation). The explanation I've heard regarding this is that he went there to minister to those who had died before him and were not able to receive the gift of salvation while alive.

This is common belief by Catholics and even some protestant Churches (RCA for example), but I have never heard mention of it outside of churches that accept the Apostles Creed as Cannon. Is there a pure biblical explanation for what Jesus did, or is it just that we don't know?

QUESTION 11
I have always wondered about 1 Corinthians 1:25.... andthe weakness of God being stronger than men. Please explain.....
